Halloween 2011

We had a wonderful, low-key Halloween this year with our black cat and puppy dog.  It was fun to have the kids together for their first Halloween, even though William didn't know what was going on.

Ok, so her whiskers are a little strange. I couldn't find any eye liner so I used mascara. The important thing is that she thought they were awesome. :)

This might be my favorite picture. Love their personalities!

Caroline and our neighbor Mary were both black cats which Caroline loved!

William enjoyed the walk in the cool night air and became a sleepy puppy dog.

Love the paws.

Last picture before we headed in to check out Caroline's loot!

William is 3 months old!

Our sweet baby is three months old!

He is such a joy and such an easy baby! He sleeps from about 9 PM to 8 AM. Yes, I'm serious. So we are already up having coffee, sometimes finished with breakfast, and occasionally have already played in the backyard by the time he wakes up.

William enjoys his swing and sitting in his bumbo seat. Most of all, William loves to make eye contact and have "cooing" conversations with people. He still prefers to be held as much as possible.

His reflux seems to be getting a little better so we are hopeful he is going to outgrow it soon.  He is still on Prevacid and sleeps in his Nap Nanny and they both seem to help him.

William's eyes are still dark blue and his dark hair seems to be coming back in a little bit on top.   I may be biased but this little boy is handsome!

The onesie in these pictures is extra special because our friends, the Rameys, bought it for William when they were in Romania.

Caroline's Pre-K school pictures

Caroline's school had individual pictures taken recently and I didn't have high hopes for how they would come out.  Wow - was I surprised!  School pictures have come a long way since we were little when they put up a fake-looking backdrop and has us pose with a fake apple.

Check these out...

Colorado

Kevin and I escaped (sans kids!) for 4 days to Colorado this past week. We were supposed to spend two nights in Beaver Creek and two nights in Denver but we loved Beaver Creek so much we changed our reservations to stay there longer. We were supposed to go to Beaver Creek last November for our 5th anniversary but I had a "stomach bug" known now as William. :)  Apparently not many people visit the Colorado mountains in early October so it was quiet everywhere we went. If you want to go to Beaver Creek, go in October!! The aspens are a beautiful yellow and orange and we were there for the first snow.

The first night eating at Ti Amo.

Outside our hotel in the snow. (Nothing says "the Colorado mountains" quite like the parking garage in the background.)

This is the stream that runs behind our hotel. The picture doesn't even begin to capture the beauty of it and the amazing sound of the water running.

Self portrait.

Roasting marshmallows at the Ritz.

Our hotel room had a kitchen...the perfect place for me to clean and dry all my pumping parts. :)

Our hotel with the ski gondola right there. This is one of our very favorite places to stay!

Dinner the last night in Denver at Osterio Marco in LoDo. We sat at the same table at the same restaurant 2 years ago on a trip to Denver.

2011 trip...

2009 trip...

This trip was one of the best we've ever had! Thank you to my parents for keeping both kids for 5 days snd losing a lot of sleep with hungry little William. Thanks to my friend Suzi for the SWA passes. Without the three of you, this trip would not have happened!

Game day

Well, its a Saturday in the fall, which at our house means college football is on tv. Today Kevin said he would watch Will for me while I took a shower. I came down just a couple minutes after I walked upstairs and found this...

Will seemed fine (and obviously so was Kevin) so I went upstairs and took a shower.

When I came down after my shower, this is what I found...

Clearly, while I was in the shower Will started fussing on his mat so Kevin moved Will to the exersaucer and himself to the couch. Everyone wins!

NOTE: I can only make fun of Kevin because he is a great dad. Also, we should cut him some slack because we had to be at the t-ball fields at 7:45 AM today for Caroline's game. And I must admit there is nothing better than falling asleep watching college football.

A nice little Sunday

Today was date day...daddy/daughter date and mommy/son date to be exact.

Before we went on our dates, the kids had fun swinging in the backyard.

And then we had breakfast outside. Our new favorite, oatmeal banana pancakes with fresh strawberries and homemade granola- yum!! If you want the recipe (trust me, you do) click here.

Kevin took Caroline to Sea World for the second time. I would like to nominate Kevin for "Dad of the Year" for not only spending a Sunday at Sea World but for remembering to take pictures for our blog. :)

Clearly, they spent a lot of time in the Sesame Street part of Sea World...

...and had cotton candy. :)

Meanwhile, William and I went to church and then had lunch on a patio and enjoyed the amazing weather we are having.

I'm so in love with this happy little guy...
