William's curls

They are so beautiful that they deserve their own blog entry. I am smitten with his curls and how precious they are when he gets out of the bath or pool.

William's 30 month appointment

William had his 30 month check up with Dr. Pauli yesterday. Overall he is a healthy, growing boy. The doctor is still concerned about his delayed speech so we are hoping all is better by his 3 year appointment.

During the appointment, William made Dr. Pauli laugh with all of his high fives, jumps, manly grunts and the occasional "awesome baby!" This kid is a mess!

Height: 35 inches (25th percentile)
Weight: 31.5 lbs (60th percentile)

Snuggle bugs

For some reason, the kids grabbed their blankies and snuggled up in an empty laundry basket. They are so sweet together.

A visit from Paw Paw Kenneth and the Dority's

We love having visitors and we had two at once the weekend after Christmas...Kevin's dad and our friends (the Dority's).

Ella and Caroline

Paw Paw and the kids

On Sunday, we all went to Gruene. Here are the kids at the general store.

On stage at Gruene Hall.

Caroline gets her ears pierced!

After debating it for a year (literally), Caroline decided to get her ears pierced on December 30. We went to Claire's at the Village at Stone Oak and Kevin met us there after work. There were about 20 earrings to chose from and she chose pearls. I was a proud mama!

Before...

Marking the spot to pierce...

Getting scared...

All done!! She looks beautiful and hasn't stopped talking about her earrings since that night.

Papa's birthday, a visit with cousin Alan, and a trip to the new Austin Aquarium

Thursday morning, the kids and I headed to Georgetown to help Dad celebrate his 67th birthday. On the way there, we stopped at the Kerby Lane on Lamar to catch up with my cousin Alan who was in town on an overnight.

I haven't seen Alan since my dad's retirement party 7 years ago and that's the only time he's met Caroline. Needless to say, it was great to see him and have my kids meet him.

After breakfast, we went to mom and dad's house and Caroline started decorating.

Later the kids had fun raking leaves into piles so they could jump in them.

We celebrated dad's birthday the night of the 2nd. Caroline made a really cute card for him and also made him a rainbow loom bracelet.

On the morning of dad's birthday, there were 11 deer in the backyard.

After breakfast we went to check out the new Austin Aquarium.

William thought the fake pirate was "scar-we".

Touching the stingrays.

William kissing the iguana.

For Dad's birthday lunch, we went to Phil's Ice House and the kids played on the playground.
