Sheila, Beckett, and Davis come to SA!

My college friend, Sheila, and her two sons came to visit us! The last time we saw each other, I was pregnant with William and she was pregnant with Davis. It was so much fun to meet Davis and see the little ones interact. Plus, Caroline always has a good time with Beckett.

As Sheila and I ate dinner at Aldaco's, we realized exactly 10 years go to the day, we were backpacking Europe together. What an experience! And what a great friendship that has lasted from our freshman year as Chi Omega pledges, through backpacking Europe, and now to getting together with our four kids.

It was such a fun visit - the little ones met and played for the first time and the big ones rekindled their friendship. Plus Sheila and I went to dinner and laughed at all of our funny stories and memories.  Oh, how I wish I could move the Woodlands closer to San Antonio!

Look how cute Davis is!!

Bath time

I can't get over how cute our kids are when they are in the bath together. Caroline has a floating princess castle with a princess, prince, horse etc and entertains William by putting on shows for him. So after a hot day at tennis camp today, here the kids are in the bath.

Crazy kids!

Our kids crack us up. A couple of pictures from the last few days...

William is 11 months!

Is this really our last monthly post before he turns the big 1?! William is still a happy little guy who prefers to be held...at all times. He loves Caroline, Snowball, and reading books. He pushes books across the floor to us to read and just lights up when we read to him. "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" is still his very favorite book.William isn't saying any words besides "dada" and he tries to say "Snowball" and "kitty cat". He is very verbal and likes to yell and grunt. He loves playing peek-a-boo and just loves to laugh.

We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and he weighed 21 pounds, 6 ounces.

Mess

And to think the maids just came yesterday...and don't come back for another two weeks. Yikes!

Tv

Did someone say kids shouldn't watch tv? I think those people are (a) wrong and (b) not stay-at-home mom's. What would we do without Sesame Street?!

"I don't need to nap!"

This is what happens when Caroline doesn't nap. She falls asleep in an uncomfortable position on the couch at an early hour.

All about Caroline...

While William was napping this morning, I did this little questionaire with Caroline. Her answers cracked me up and I always want to remember them.

ALL ABOUT MYSELF

By: Caroline Manuel   Age: 5 ½

My name is Caroline.
I am 5 ½  years old and am almost as tall as Mommy, Nana, and Grandma.
I have blonde and brown hair and blue eyes like Daddy and Papa.
My favorite tv show is Phineas and Ferb and SpongeBob*.
My favorite thing to do is go in a race and ride real ponies. Only girl ponies. And I like to win.
My favorite food is macaroni and cheese.
My favorite drink is Gatorade, Coke Zero**, Cherry Limeade, and Slushies.
My favorite color is pink.
For fun I like to play ponies and dolls. I also like to spin in Daddy’s office chair.
My favorite letter is M and D, for Mommy and Daddy. Also N and P for Nana and Papa.
My favorite animals are ostriches and buffaloes and ponies.
My favorite place in the world is North Carolina.
My favorite thing to do is to go to my grandparent’s house by myself.
My favorite thing about myself is that I have a kitten who is really playful like me.
My favorite thing to learn about is animals.
My favorite book is Pinkalicious since every single page is pink.
My favorite thing about my house is that I have so many toys.
I am most proud that I have my own cat and that I can do things by myself.
The thing I’m most excited about kindergarten is that I get to play on the big girl swings and have a backpack like a big girl.

* - Caroline is not allowed to watch SpongeBob but she loves to tell people its her favorite show.
** - Caroline is also not allowed to drink Coke Zero.

All-you-can-eat buffet

I feel like our house has become an all-day all-you-can-eat buffet. I seriously had no idea two small kids could eat this much food. It's 7:30 AM and both kids are on breakfast #2. Thank the good Lord for coffee because there is no time for mommy to eat when kids eat this much. Lately, I've had to cut the kids off because they've literally eaten everything I had to offer. Each meal blends into snack time which then blends right into the next meal. If I had a dollar for every time Caroline says "Mommy, I'm hungry" every day I would...well, I could have an assistant to help me feed these crazy kids!!
