Happy Halloween

Friday - October 30
I took Caroline to "Halloween at Headquarters" at my office. They have lots of kids carnivals and fun things to do - plus it is insanely packed with people in crazy costumes. Caroline has wanted to dress as Ariel from the Little Mermaid for a few months so that's what she was for Halloween. My department dressed as Waldo from "Where's Waldo" in case you are wondering what I'm wearing.
I swear she had fun...
My VP gave her a cupcake and I couldn't exactly say no. :)
In the kid carnival they had a ring toss around bottles of wine. Ha! I asked if the parents won the wine and they said no.

Whenever Caroline gets her face painted she always asks for a pumpkin. They had flowers and butterflies and princess crowns but she just wanted a pumpkin. She also asked on Halloween morning if she could be a pumpkin for Halloween. We informed her she was a pumpkin last year.

Caroline cheating at the bean bag toss. :)

Saturday - October 31
Tonight we had a brief change of plans and Caroline wanted to go as Belle. (This is what happens when you have way too many princess dresses!) Alas, she decided to go as Ariel.

At the last minute, I suggested Kevin go as a Northwest Airlines pilot with a laptop (news story from last week). After all, we have pieces of a Pilot's uniform at our house from an airline that will remain nameless and from a Pilot who will also remain nameless. Yes, its a little off-color...but admit it - its funny.

An attempted family picture.

Caroline and Grant Man before trick or treating.
Here is our trick or treat group - minus Saleh, Craig, and Nolan. (Notice we are 0 for 5 in getting the kids to look at the camera in this picture. Sydney is the closest and she's only 16 weeks.)

Their very first house to go trick or treating! We realized at this point that Caroline wasn't wearing shoes...oops. Kevin went back to retrieve some. She couldn't wear her princess high heels because of her horrible blisters from wearing them all day yesterday so she wore slippers tonight. :)
Captain Kevin ruins the NW Pilots image even more as he enjoys a beer.
A cute shot of the mermaid tail.
Despite the man at the house behind them being a Longhorn, he was one of the only people who caught on to the Northwest Airlines joke. I guess there are some smart Longhorns out there...or at least one. :)
Kevin and I in a really well decorated yard. It made our two uncarved pumpkins on our porch look really pathetic.Sabrina feeding Sydney who went as Bambi.
Caroline and Grant knocking...and knocking...and knocking. :)
The pictures of our group made me laugh. Kevin drinking a beer in a pilot's uniform (and still carrying the laptop) while Craig uses the cup holder on the stroller for his beer.

Another funny picture..."Ariel" is looking a little worn out...

But she perseveres...
Caroline loves to get in other people's family pictures.

The dads are carrying the toddlers which means its the end of the night and time to start walking back to the house...
Happy Halloween!

Petting Zoo

Caroline sitting outside of security in the Dallas airport on Friday. She walked through the airport with her backpack and sunglasses on. :)

On Sunday, one of Caroline's friends had a birthday party so we flew in from El Paso, dropped Kevin off at the house and went straight to the party. I changed Caroline's clothes in the car and we went in. I convinced her to change clothes because I told her she had to wear a party dress to the birthday party. It worked like a charm until Caroline walked in and pointed out to her friends that they weren't wearing party dresses like her. Oops.

Maddie's party was a petting zoo party and I must admit that I was really excited about playing with the little animals and the party did not disappoint! I realized at one point that I was the only adult in the petting zoo area...oops.

Here is Caroline with some baby chicks.

She was a little scared to hold it.

Caroline LOVED bottle feeding the little pigs. She kept asking the lady who brought the animals (or "amimals") for more milk.

A brief break from the petting zoo to swing with her friend Margo. She loved the see-saw swing at Matt and Katie's so she was excited to see this one at Maddie's house.

Riding the pony.

Feeding the llama.

More time with the pigs.

Petting a goat.
Holding a goat. Right after this picture she kissed the goat - we took a bath as soon as we got home. :)

Such a fun party!

Weekend Visit to El Paso and an Aggie win!

This weekend we went to visit our friends Katie and Matt and their 11 week old son, Pierce, in El Paso.

We went to the Toro Burger Bar on Friday night. I read about it awhile ago in Texas Monthly and told Katie about it in an attempt to get her excited about moving to El Paso. Katie and I spend a lot of time laughing at the boys so here is another example. They were sitting on the same side of the booth, with two kids, and drinking beer.

Pierce smiled most of the weekend! It was so fun to see such a happy little guy!

Caroline is in love with Pierce! She loves being a little mommy.

Another picture of the guys that words really can't describe. Katie and I were in the kitchen and walked around the corner to see this. It took us a really long time to stop laughing. I have no good explanation for this picture but it is still priceless.
Caroline loves "Miss Katie" so she really liked when Miss Katie pushed her on the swing. (They bought a house that came with a swing set. After putting ours together we think that may be a requirement in our next house!)
Caroline loves this see saw swing!

Katie and Pierce.

Our next door neighbors, Lindsey and Cap are die hard Red Raiders, bless their hearts. They've been talking a lot of trash this past week about the A&M/Tech game on Saturday. Lo and behold, the Aggies won. We couldn't let this possibly once-in-a-lifetime event pass without some kind of celebration. Here is their front porch - decorated for when they returned to Lubbock today. Aren't we great neighbors?!

Kevin even used sidewalk chalk which I thought was hilarious!

Hopefully we will move before next football season, because I have a feeling payback will not be pleasant. :)
