Napa Valley

Last weekend Kevin and I went to Napa Valley to relax and enjoy some really good wine! Here are our pictures!

Wine train - really cool! We highly recommend it!

This is the "Muse" statue at Mondavi. Of course, we posed with her.

Blackberry camera?

Our camera is officially broken. It finally quit in the middle of the Easter egg hunt yesterday. So today, Caroline and Farrah were wearing big, poofy princess dresses and barrel-rolling down a hill in Farrah's yard. I decided to try out the camera on my Blackberry and I got this picture. Caroline had just finished rolling down the hill and was turning to get up to run back up the hill. I thought it was a pretty good picture! I hope everyone had a great Easter!

Celebrating Easter...one day early

Well the Dallas forecast calls for heavy thunderstorms Saturday evening and all day Sunday so we decided to do our outdoor Easter activities today.

We went to the Arboretum after Caroline's nap. It was a gorgeous day and the Arboretum is always breath-taking.

Here we are at the petting zoo. (Note: If you live in Dallas, you must go to the petting zoo every Easter at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church - its amazing! The petting zoo at the Arboretum was not great. Not a single bunny or baby chic...Its Easter!)

White Rock Lake in the background while we were on the grassy hill at the Arboretum.

This is the new "Caroline attitude pose"...we see this a lot but that smile is usually not a part of the look.
Kevin and Caroline. (He promised her candy if she would take a picture with him.)

Caroline refusing to take a picture with Mommy (and Mommy refusing to bribe the child). :)
Ok, so I might have bribed her...but she still refused to look at the camera.

When we came home from the Arboretum, the Easter Bunny had hid eggs in our front yard! Caroline was a bit confused but she still played along. (We watched the Dora episode on finding Easter eggs as a tutorial beforehand.) Please notice the pink, furry high heels with the Easter dress.

Kiddie Acres

While Caroline was in Georgetown/Austin this past week, Mom and Dad took her to Kiddie Acres - one of my very favorite places when I was little. Its an amusement park for little kids! Caroline apparently loved it as much as I did/still do. :)

Caroline and Papa. (Notice they have her dressed in her Derek Jeter Yankee shirt...classic Henkelman move.)

Caroline riding the airplanes. This was one of her favorite rides and she did it multiple times.
Here she is in the blue plane this time...

Now she's in the boat...
And finally the horse! On the way to Kiddie Acres, Caroline told Mom and Dad that she was scared of horses because "they look at me". This is a new thing Caroline says. She says it about horses, dragons, and today she said it about sheep. So it took some coercing and a really nice young man who worked at Kiddie Acres to get her on the horse. But once she was on, she loved it!

Here is a video clip of Caroline riding the horse with her new friend, Jordan, guiding her.

Caroline in Georgetown

Mom and Dad just sent these pictures. Apparently they felt the need to reassure me that Caroline hasn't lost any personality since she went to Georgetown to stay with them. Trust me, we weren't worried. :)

As you look at this picture, don't you wonder what the neighbors are thinking as they look out their windows?

Caroline with Nana's eye liner...
You have to love the outfit and how Caroline has destroyed the living room and has taken it over as her own. Chances are, this picture was taken 5 minutes after Caroline walked in the door. Gotta love going to the grandparents house!

Is anyone else wondering what's on tv? Doesn't look like Dora....
Seriously Mom and Dad! What in the world are you letting our child watch on tv?
I don't know if Caroline and Papa are dancing or stretching but either way its funny!
Just from these few pictures I think everyone is having a great time!!

This weekend

Caroline has been begging to go to Nana and Papa's house...and they've been begging for the same. Most days when we are driving home from school and we turn on our street, Caroline starts crying "No home! I want go to NanaPapa's house!" ("NanaPapa" is one word for Caroline.) So on Friday, Caroline and I met them at Rudy's BBQ in Waco to exchange the Peanut. Needless to say, she was all smiles.

I love these pictures of Caroline and Nana. You can see pure joy on both of their faces.

Last night was April's birthday party. She's young and hip (in her 20's) so we went to Tillman's which was really fun! And because she's in her 20's, we went to the Corner Bar afterwards. I'm pretty sure David, Kevin and I were the oldest ones there but it was lots of fun! We can't let Caroline know we saw "Mr. Dave" because she will be very jealous. Mr. Dave and Mr. Matt are her two boyfriends. :)
