A Painting of Caroline and other silly antics...

Last week, I came home to a FedEx package at our front door. I opened it and was shocked. My cousin Megan is a very talented artist and she painted a picture of Caroline from a picture I took when we were at Disney World as a surprise for us. Of course we were so excited and surprised to get it but Caroline is SO excited to have a painting of herself...especially in her Minnie Mouse ears. It is displayed on the piano and she takes everyone who comes in to see it. What a wonderful surprise! (On a side note: Caroline painted some pictures for me to send to Megan so they can trade artwork. Ha!)

Here's the painting from my cousin Megan (Isn't it amazing?!):

Here is the picture she based the painting on. (Well, the exact picture was taken on my Blackberry but this one was taken with our camera at the same time.)

Caroline is up to some funny little antics. First of all, she's changed her name to Farrah - creative, huh? At the doctor on Thursday she wrote "Farrah" at the top of her paperwork. Then this weekend she wrote it with sidewalk chalk on the back porch.

Caroline and Farrah (or Farrah and Farrah) eating popsicles at the picnic table.

As we unloaded our attic and moved it into the garage on Sunday, we came across Caroline's Bumbo from when she was a baby. She loved it, watched tv in it, and then used it for her baby doll.

Since Caroline/Farrah has renamed herself, it makes sense that she renamed her baby doll. The doll formerly known as Melon, is now named Ella. (Sometimes called Ella Banana.) Ella is apparently Caroline's baby sister. Sometimes I tell Caroline she is a great mommy to Ella and she quickly corrects me and says "I'm the big sister not the mommy!" Caroline and Ella are inseparable right now - Ella sleeps with Caroline, sits next to her while she eats, Caroline takes her on walks and gives her bottles, Ella even rides in the car to and from school with us everyday. So now Caroline's two favorite dolls are named Stella and Ella. :)

I'm not sure if these pictures are cute or disturbing but this is a part of Caroline and Ella's playdate on Sunday.

Caroline stuck in her Bumbo made me laugh.

Caroline posing with her "baby sister Ella".

Caroline, Daddy, and Ella laying on the couch together.

Apparently Ella's ear hurts so she needed a boo boo pack to sleep with too. Isn't this picture cute?

I had some trouble getting Caroline ready for school this morning. Here is how the morning went. As usual, Caroline wanted to eat her oatmeal outside on her picnic table. (This happens every morning.) But then, she came inside to get a bottle for Ella because Ella was hungry and needed some milk. (Still no bite of oatmeal for Caroline.) Notice the Bumbo is on the seat next to Caroline. Ella was sitting in the Bumbo until she got hungry...or so I'm told.

Then Caroline runs inside frantically and tells me Ella is crying and she needs to rock her. (Still no oatmeal consumed.)

I finally had to convince Caroline that Ella was ok and she ate her oatmeal. But before we left for school, Caroline tucked Ella into her bed to take a nap and then kissed Ella goodbye. Sweet girl!

Tonight after swimming Caroline painted pictures for Daddy.

Right after swimming, Caroline was wrapped in a towel and went running. She tripped and went nose/cheek first into the carpet at swim school. Her nose started bleeding right away and I thought she had a broken nose. But I'm pretty sure it was just the skin bleeding. So now she has a leaky right ear, as well as rug burns all over the right side of her face. We are going to the ENT tomorrow morning so I will have him check out her nose just to make sure everything inside is ok. At least we get our money's worth since we need the "E" and the "N" from the ENT. :)

Ear infection

Caroline has been complaining about "water" in her ear in the middle of the night for the past few nights...and she hasn't been sleeping well...at all. Today I picked her up from school and she said "Mom, my ear hurts" and then turned to show me the right side of her face was covered in orangish-yellowish gunk that came from her ear and dried all over her face and in her hair. Poor kid! My first thought was "we've blown another ear drum and another set of ear tubes" but thankfully I was wrong. Its just an ear infection this time - which is bad enough if you ask me. Tonight she fell asleep with her "princess boo boo pack" on her infected ear and I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Georgetown, Beach, Father's Day

In the last week and a half, we've been to Georgetown, San Antonio, the beach in NC, and back to Dallas to celebrate Father's Day! Here are some pictures...

Caroline taking a bath...with her goggles on. :)

Swinging at Nana and Papa's in her new tree swing.

Our barefoot country girl. :)

Caroline enjoys picking flowers/weeds for me. Here she is running to give them to me while I take pictures.
(Check out the huge pink ring she's wearing. :) )

Picking hydrangeas for Nana.

Running inside to give Nana the flowers while Nana cooks breakfast.

Diving to Papa.

I like this side shot of her at the beach house. She wouldn't stop and look at me so this was the best I could do.

Papa teaching Caroline to play chess. I love the look on her face in these pictures.

Feet in the sand!

Caroline and Ava sitting on the dock. (Uncle Mike swimming in the background.)

Caroline fishing with the "real" fishing pole, not her princess one.

Caroline has a new nickname - "Hush puppy" - and she earned it at the beach!

Friday morning I was so excited to see my sweet potato vine had finally started to grow...and then I came back out to see Caroline was carrying it as a bouquet. She complained it had dirt all over it and I told her that's because it was planted in the yard. :)

Saturday night we went to the Magic Time Machine for dinner with the Barkers. Before we ate, we hit up the arcade. The arcade was part of the upstairs (smoky) bar with a psychic in the corner. We definitely get points for Parents of the Year for this one.

Kevin and Caroline driving.

She loved it!

Time to get serious...notice she is shifting.
As any good family would do, its now time for father/daughter shooting practice at the arcade. It was hilarious. From the looks of Kevin's stance, I think the arcade game was scared for its life.

I thought this picture was cute until I realized that Caroline is licking the gun. I can't figure out where we get all the germs....After we played games, we went downstairs to eat and Cinderella was our waitress. Caroline was SO excited!

Early Sunday morning, Caroline played in the sprinklers with Max and Miles. You have to love the difference between boys and girls which is why I think this picture is so priceless.

Our family on Father's Day.

Brunch at Gloria's for Father's Day. (Just ignore the black beans on Caroline's face. She eats bowls and bowls of them every time we go to Gloria's.)

Sunday after nap we took Caroline to Studio Movie Grill to see Shrek: Forever After. So here are Kevin, Caroline, and baby Melon at the movie. Caroline was talking to baby Melon in this picture and trying to get the baby to smile.

Caroline has been asking to make pizza sometime and I told her that her daddy took a pizza making class and makes wonderful pizzas. So they made pizza together on Sunday and it was awesome!

Guess which half is ours and which half is Caroline's. :)
