Chad's 80's party

Our friend Chad had a birthday party in June and it was 80's themed. It was so fun and we loved the excuse to dress up and look ridiculous.

Paul and Kevin. When I saw Paul's sleeveless shirt, I really regretted not buying one for Kevin. Although I do LOVE Kevin's outfit and what a good sport he was to wear it with enthusiasm.

Oh goodness...

Mexico?

Sometimes when the kids are out of control, I threaten to Kevin that I'm going to flee to Mexico. (Now that I think about it, Italy or Bora Bora sounds much better.)

Anyway, William has had a few days of non-stop screaming and Caroline, well, she has more energy and more to say than an entire classroom of 3 year olds. So one afternoon on "one of those days" I was talking to my Dad. I told him I might flee to Mexico, to which he responded matter-of-factly, "Well, at least you don't have far to drive.". It made me laugh and I still laugh thinking about him saying it.

The great thing about living in San Antonio? It's a short drive when you flee to Mexico. Ha!

Standing in his highchair

We now have to buckle the crazy man into his highchair because he loves to stand up in it.

Operation:Nursing complete

Because I will forget this a week from now, much less years from now, I nursed William for the last time on July 17, 2012. (It also happens to be my Mom's birthday. ). It was bittersweet but William hasn't had any problems so I think it was perfect timing. :)

Costco

After years of debating the $55 membership fee, we are full-fledged card-holding CostCo members. (Truth be told, I was worried that my friends Emily and Kathleen would unfriend me when they found out recently that I didn't shop at CostCo. :). ). What can I say, I'm a SuperTarget girl.

So today the kids and I went to join CostCo. Naturally, I took pictures of our introductory experience.

Not only did I push the huge boxes of items I bought, but I pushed 79 pounds of Manuel children. Work out? I think so.

My favorite coffee in a K-cup?! It was a big find!

Loading the car

4 glorious pounds of organic blueberries. Oh my!!

A 24 pack of Kevin's favorite beer. Yep, pretty sure he's not going to complain about me joining Costco.

We did buy some great things (coffee, blueberries organic milk and beer) but I must admit I'm not in any hurry to go back soon. I much prefer my leisurely SuperTarget shopping, with a Starbucks in hand. And I have a special place in my heart for people who regularly go to Costco with kids. :)

Beaumont

Last weekend we went to Beaumont for Kevin's mom's birthday.

The kids hanging out of the sunroof at one of our stops.

Kim, Madison, Caroline and I had some girl time on Saturday and got pedicures.

We let Caroline skip her nap to get her nails down. Here she is asleep in the pedicure chair. The back massager was on so it was moving her body even though she was completely asleep. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.

One cousin awake, one cousin asleep.

Three generations of Manuel men at dinner.

Silly cousins!

This picture makes me laugh. Here is William with Madison's dog, Ashton.

Ming Ming

Caroline's love of Ming Ming has been reignited. Here they are snoozing together last night.

Simple weekend

We have had a perfectly simple weekend at home. We haven't left the house, with the exception of Caroline's swim class yesterday morning. It rained last night which is great because we had forgotten what rain was. The weather is unseasonably cool. I'm drinking coffee and blogging on the back porch. Life is good!

Here are some pictures of a great low-key family weekend.

These kids love to swing next to each other!

Watch out world! A Southwest Airlines captain and FBI Agent in a tutu and high heels.

The bubble machine and a bubble gun. Two great investments!
