My 34th birthday

We had a super fun weekend celebrating my 34th birthday. Sunday night, Kevin and I went to the Palm to celebrate Valentine's Day and my birthday while my parents babysat the kids.

On the 18th we hung out around the house. Kevin let me sleep in and he and Caroline decorated with streamers and all kinds of fun things in my favorite color, red.
Bringing the cake out...

My yummy cheesecake!

Then we played pin the tail on the donkey. It was so much fun and hilarious...and clearly Caroline's idea. :)

On the night of my birthday we got a babysitter for the kids and went to Piatti (my favorite restaurant) with my parents. It was such a treat since we don't get to go out with them anymore because they always keep the kids.

All in all, it was a great birthday and I'm thrilled for another year!

Caroline's 100th day of kindergarten

Tomorrow is Caroline's 100th day of kindergarten and we've been working on her 100th day poster for school. I loved 100th day when I was in school and I remember using Cheerios as the thing I brought in 100 of. (Note: I have no clue what we did the day before yesterday but I have vivid memories of kindergarten.)

Caroline has been brainstorming what to do on her poster of 100. In true Caroline fashion, nothing as straightforward as Cheerios was ever mentioned. This last Saturday we "synergized" with Kevin (they are learning about the importance of synergizing at school) and settled on 100 bubbles. Bubbles? Yes, bubbles.

Here is the end result of her hard work (and Kevin's). Isn't it awesome?!

Heck on Wheels

This shirt is perfect for William right now. And this tantrum while wearing the shirt really sums things up.

Mommy-Daughter night at the salon

Caroline and I needed some time together...away from the "clean up your room", "do your homework", "Wash your hands", "hurry up" routine that we are (unfortunately) in.

We both needed haircuts so I made appointments for us to get ours cutntogethernar the salon I go to.

At first Caroline was skeptical because she likes her kid salon. But then she loved it!

Looking through her new Hello Kitty calendar

He blew dry her hair straight so he is her new best friend.

The two of us with Jeffrey afterwards

The after...

Caroline's class picture

At first you think "oh how cute"...

And then you think "wait, what is that girl doing?!"

Yes, this is kindergarten!! Yikes! What in the world will they do in the 1st grade picture?

Getting ready for Valentine's

We are excited about Valentine's day around here! I figured Caroline would like to look back one day and see the valentines she made in kindergarten.

Valentine's to mail the grandparents.
