William's allergy testing

After wondering if William had a food allergy on top of his reflux, we had the little guy tested today. Hooray for no food allergies!!! I have been off of dairy for a while and can't wait to have a glass of milk, yogurt, cheese, and ice cream...all at the same time! :)

Here is a picture from the allergy testing. As usual, William was not bothered by it at all.

William is 2 months old!

Today we had William's two month check up with Dr. Pauli. The little guy weighs 11 lbs, 13 oz (50th percentile) and is 22 inches long (15th percentile). Besides a suspected milk allergy with his reflux, he is a healthy little boy!

I know you aren't supposed to say how cute your own child is, but...LOOK HOW CUTE THIS KID IS!!! I can't get enough of him...

Here are some other things we want to remember about William at this age:
  • This little guy loves to cuddle! We hold him almost all day every day...its crazy. I can put him down and he cries for no reason and as soon as I pick him up, he stops crying. I wear him in the Baby Bjorn whenever I need to get something done...this guy hardly rides in a stroller.
  • William is a great sleeper. He sleeps from about 10 to 5 every night.
  • His eyelashes have come in and they are beautiful!
  • He smiles when he sees us.
  • He "coos".
  • We think he looks like a combination of our dads.
  • Caroline does tummy time with him because he will push himself up and hold it to see her. Sometimes she performs a dance and he really likes to watch that.
  • First airplane ride on August 15 - from San Antonio to Wilmington
  • He has my crooked smile and crooked fourth toe and I'm SO proud! (When you have two kids that don't look like you, it's the little things. :))
  • When I put him down for nap or sleep, his eyes follow me as I shut his door.
  • He loves for us to pat his back and rub his head.
  • He rolled over (from front to back) at 8 weeks.

Play date at the SA Children's Museum

We went to the SA Children's Museum with Elizabeth and her family and the girls had a blast.

Outside the front door of the museum...

William's first time at the museum. Thankfully he slept in his Baby Bjorn most of the time. By the way, Caroline took this picture.

William's newborn picture session

Our dear friend Kalli flew to San Antonio to capture our ten day old bundle of joy. We could not be happier with these pictures and were honestly speechless when she sent them to us...and maybe I cried but I'm sure its just a hormone thing. :)

Presenting our sweet William...

Words cannot express how much we love this picture of William and Caroline. It may be my favorite picture for the rest of my life.

I love his foot tucked up behind his knee in this one.

Kevin's hands holding William...another favorite of mine.

I spend a lot of time with William in the glider so this picture really captures the time we spend together, especially when we are the only ones awake in the middle of the night. I love my sweet baby boy.

FYI - Kalli's website is www.kallibarkerphotography.com - we love her and every friend of ours who has used her has loved her too!

Six weeks at a glance

Where has the time gone?! This blog entry is an attempt to document what we've been doing the last six weeks or so - that way I can catch up and start blogging regularly...I hope. :)

Also, the majority of pictures taken since we had William have been with my iPhone because its just easier. So the quality isn't as great but at least we are taking pictures, right? :)

This picture was taken at the hospital if that tells you how behind I am. Here are Amanda and Mary with William. They have been so amazingly supportive during my pregnancy and since William has been here. I couldn't have asked for better neighbors and friends!

Our dear friend and fabulous photographer, Kalli Barker, flew to San Antonio with her entire family to photograph our sweet William on July 2, when he was two days old.  The pictures turned out great, despite William "dirtying" every single blanket and prop Kalli brought. (Sorry Kalli!) She transformed our dining room into a studio in about five minutes - amazing!

Caroline and Mackay supervising the photo shoot...and eating goldfish.

Later that night (7/2) our friends Ryan and Susie Farnie came over to meet William. Susie read books to Caroline and she loved it!

Snoozing

Happy July 4th!  (Caroline did her own hair and yes, those are hair clips hanging from her ears. :) )

On Friday, July 8, my lifelong friend Sarah brought dinner to our family and hung out for a while.

Caroline has the sweetest, most serene, look about her when she holds William.

Our first date night after the baby! Mom and Dad kept the kids at our house while we went to a new restaurant nearby and had dinner...and cheesecake. Its the best cheesecake I've ever had.

How do you swaddle this?!

My Dad took Caroline to the zoo one day while my Mom helped me with William at home. I love this picture Dad took.

Snoozing on his green lounger...

Caroline rocking William in the glider. He loves to look at her, even at just a few weeks old...it really is amazing.

He has the craziest hair in back!

We celebrated Mom's birthday with her on Thursday, July 14 and took them to our favorite restaurant at the Quarry.

I find that I always take pictures of Dad and Kevin when they are doing something goofy...and this picture, for some reason, cracks me up. Kevin is supposed to be feeding William but instead he is holding William while my Dad gives him the bottle, so Kevin can eat his salad. Classic.

William at dinner

Dad and Kevin having a serious conversation about sunglasses at dinner...another goofy moment captured.

We had dessert at the restaurant so we didn't have a cake and candles at home which Caroline found unacceptable. So we lit a regular candle and sang Happy Birthday to Mom.

Nana and William

On July 17th, Kevin's mom, sister and niece came to see the kids.

William has started balding on top but still has crazy hair in the back

The most special baby gift William has received - my Aunt Donna mailed him my grandpa's blue sapphire tie tack. Apparently my dad purchased it for his dad when he was 24 and serving in Thailand. How special is that?  On top of that, it is pinned to one of my Gram's handkerchiefs.  I love gifts with meaning!

Happy Boy!

William's first Chuy's happy hour. (Its important to document milestones like this, right?)

I had this made for his room and loved it so much I had to share.

We attempted to take one month pictures of William...

One day while Caroline was at school, I sat on the couch with William, drank coffee, and watched the Tour de France. One of the best mornings. Ever.

Snoozing on his lounger...

On Friday, July 22 we took William to Beaumont to meet Kevin's family.  Here is Maw Maw (Kevin's grandma), with her grandson and great grandkids.

Kevin's dad with William.

This summer has been hot and in case I ever forget how hot it was, I included this picture. Kevin's mom gave us a can of soda when we left Beaumont and we didn't open it and left it in our car. The next morning, it had exploded all over the inside of our car. It looks like someone used a can opener but it was the heat and pressure that caused this. Remind me again why we live in South Texas???

William's first night in his Nap Nanny.

Caroline in a cute new outfit from Rhonda. She wore it every day for three days so I had to wash it every night.

Kevin had to work in the Austin office for a couple of days so (twist my arm) the kids and I went with him and we stayed at my parent's house. On Friday, the kids and I met Kyle and Melanie White and their kids at the Georgetown Country Club for lunch and a swim. Caroline loves playing with Julia!

Caroline putting on Julia's shoes for her...we have no idea why.

Friday night we went over to Kevin's cousin's house. We had a great time catching up with Beau and Samantha and Caroline had a blast with their daughter, Addison.

They went upstairs and came back down dressed like this - hilarious.

I love pictures of Caroline holding William so, be prepared, there will be a lot more to come.

Sweet William

We stayed one extra day at my parent's house and that morning, we let Caroline swim in her pjs. She thought it was so cool!

But to make it even cooler, Caroline asked if she and Papa could eat a big marshmallow in the pool.
