Memorial Day Weekend - Part 2

On Monday morning, we had breakfast and coffee at La Duni. Kevin said it was the best mocha he'd ever had and my Cafe Au Lait was amazing! I believe I will go back this weekend for another one.

Here are Kevin and Caroline coloring at La Duni. (If you have kids and don't have the Crayola Color Wonder markers, you are missing out!!!)

Caroline drinking her first mocha.

Monday afternoon Caroline played in the sprinkler and then Farrah joined her. For some reason, I just love the look on Caroline's face here. (And she and Ava Genden have the same bathing suit this year!)

Hilarious pose! (Caroline is highly allergic to mosquito bites so thats the big mark on her left shoulder in the pictures.)

The flower Farrah is holding is the sprinkler but Caroline doesn't like that sprinkler because it scares her. We think it scares her because its unpredictable and she doesn't know where its going to spray next. Can you say "Type A just like Mommy"?

The girls watered the pots on the porch. Two pots had seeds Caroline planted from Nana that we've been watering. When I say the girls watered the plants, I really mean they flooded and killed them. :)

After the girls played in the sprinkler, they took a bath together. Bath time is so much more fun (and easier for me!) when they bathe together. When they finished in their bath and we covered them in lotion, they decided to get in Caroline's bed and pretend to go to sleep. Then they took turns tucking each other in and scratching the other's back. It was really cute. (Every night when we tuck Caroline in she says "Scratch me!" so we will stay in her room and scratch her back. How do you say no to that?!)

Back to work - but its only a 3 day week for me! Yay!

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day to everyone! We would be remiss not to recognize Memorial Day as the important holiday that it is. I hope everyone takes a moment today to remember the men and women who died while serving our country and protecting our freedom. Today is much more than a day off work - it is a day to salute those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us to enjoy the amazing freedoms we have as Americans.

We have enjoyed this weekend and have plenty of pictures to prove it. :)

Caroline and Farrah took their babies for a walk on Saturday morning...

For some reason, they also collect sticks on their walks and push the sticks around in their strollers. Sometimes Caroline collects roly polys and pushes them around in the stroller.

Caroline gets Baby Dora situated for another walk on Sunday.

Caroline soon grew tired of pushing the stroller and Kevin had to carry the pink stroller with Baby Dora.
Kevin also grew tired of pushing Baby Dora and he decided to carry her like this. Poor Dora. She ended up falling out of the stroller a few seconds after these pictures.

Farrah's grandma made princess hats for the girls and Caroline LOVES wearing it. In this picture she is making Kevin wear it.

Sunday night we went to Matt and Katie Ramey's house and cooked out with Josh and Amanda. Katie and Matt are moving in a few months so we are cherishing every opportunity we have to see them before they move. Matt is in town on a weekend break from FBI training. Caroline loves "Mr. Matt" so she was excited to see him. (I realize her face is blocked by a beer bottle in this picture. The good news is that its a Blue Moon so its good beer. :) )

Caroline chased fireflies in the Ramey's backyard...When she caught some fireflies,"Miss Katie" helped her put them in a jar and Caroline loved it!

I love these pictures of Caroline and Katie because you can see how much Caroline loves her.
Matt and Katie are expecting a baby at the beginning of August so Caroline likes to see her baby belly. In this picture, Caroline is pointing to Katie's baby belly.

Fun Friday

Caroline had a really fun day today!

This morning we went to NorthPark Mall to meet Sarah and Grant. Its amazing how well Caroline will behave when I threaten that she won't get to see Grant if she doesn't mind. This series of pictures is almost as funny as when it was happening in person. Basically, Grant was willing and ready to hug Caroline and she denied him. You'll see she warms up though...

Here, Grant waiting for Caroline to come hug him. What you don't see is that Caroline is walking away from him at this point...

Grant feeling denied by Caroline as she walks away from him and refuses to give him a hug. Look at that sad face!

Caroline reconsiders...

Happy kids...

Look how lovingly they gaze at each other!!

Grant makes his move...

Caroline takes control of the situation...

Standing on the bridge by Neimans.

Grant wearing Caroline's jeweled flip flops. (Sorry Craig!)
Proof that we had no control of our children today as they dance on the bench in front of Tiffany's...

Grant and Caroline like to say "Cheers!" and hit their sippy cups together. We have no idea where they learned that - surely not from me and Sarah.
This evening we took Caroline and Farrah to Pump It Up, a kids play area full of inflatable bounce houses and slides.

The girls love riding in the car together. They sang and talked to each other the whole way there. They yelled "Pump it up!!" a lot. Caroline tickled Farrah's feet on the way home.

Kevin with the 2 girls outside Pump It Up

We finished the evening at Pump It Up with pizza....
and Oreos....(So ladylike!)

We had a great day! I think Caroline will sleep very well tonight - and so will I! :)
