"Hallowing!" (also known as Halloween)

I feel like we've been celebrating Halloween (or "Hallowing" as Caroline says) for a week because there have been so many fun excuses for Caroline to wear her bumble bee costume...and of course get lots of candy. By the way, we bought her bee costume in Alexandra, VA when we were there for Kevin's graduation in August at a cute little kids boutique called "Why Not?"

Before school on Friday...

Friday evening we met up with Sarah and Jedi at the St. Mary's Law School "boo bash". The kids had fun and scored LOTS of candy. (Jedi was a fireman and Sarah was the fire...ha!)

Jedi was having trouble reaching the water fountain...so Caroline picked him up. It was pretty funny. I feel like this picture should definitely surface later in life for both of them.

Watching a puppet show.

After the puppet show, someone was trying to take a picture of the puppets and the puppeteer...so naturally Jedi and Caroline felt like they should get in the picture too.

After the gym's Halloween party on Saturday night...with a cute little bumble bee on her cheek.

Wearing the stick-on mustache from Daddy's Halloween costume. (We went to a party on Saturday night but didn't bring the camera so we don't have any pictures. Kevin was Pancho Villa and wore the mustache.)

Halloween night was a lot of fun! I know Caroline really missed trick-or-treating with Farrah, Grant Man, and Max and Miles...because she told me many times. But, everyone in our neighborhood was out. People were all hanging out on their front porches enjoying the night. In fact, about half the time the kids didn't knock on doors because the residents were already outside waiting for the kids. Other times, we went into people's houses and hung out...snacked, had a drink, looked at their new iPad, the kids drank juice and played with neighbor's dogs, etc. It was one of those times when you feel really good about the neighborhood you have chosen to raise your child in. (Well, at least for now, right? :))

Trying to take pictures of the kids...but they were rolling in the grass.

Caroline trick-or-treated with Grant who lives down the street.

The kids dancing in one of the neighbor's houses who had decorated their garage for their Halloween party.

As Caroline walked away from someone's front door, she saw this skeleton hanging from the tree and her expression was priceless.

 Showing Daddy her loot.

One of our neighbors had fog machines and lowered a black caldron with candy down from the balcony. It took Caroline a while before she went up there...all of a sudden she didn't seem to care about candy. :)

Caroline the bee...in a big, scary mask.

The flight of the bumble bee is over. I love these pictures because its how every Halloween has ended thus far in her precious little life.
