Sibling Class

Today, Caroline and I attended a Sibling Class at the hospital where baby brother will be born. It was a neat class that helped the kids learn about new babies. I didn't bring my camera but took some pictures with my iPhone because it was so cute.  The kids introduced themselves and said if they were having a brother or sister...and then they told the class the baby's name. Caroline was the only kid having a baby brother and informed everyone the baby's name is "Colby Jack", her newest name for him. Yep, just like the cheese.

Here, the teacher is reading a book about newborns to the class. I was trying to capture Caroline's face when they talked about how the umbilical cord falls off like a scab. Her look of disgust was priceless.

Then each kid picked a baby doll and they learned how to wipe the babies and change diapers.

I love that the baby is on its head while she wipes it in this picture.

 Combing the baby's hair.

Drying off the baby's feet after learning to give a newborn a sponge bath.

Putting a hat on the baby...oops...over the face.

Much better...

She swaddled the baby all by herself. She likes to swaddle her dolls at home so she's pretty good at it.

Feeding the baby a bottle

At the end of the class, Caroline received a graduation certificate that she is ready to be a big sister. Although she didn't want to go to the class this morning, she loved it and, afterwards, asked if she could go "every day".
